清晨6點35分，

飛機準時抵達巴黎戴高樂國際機場。

機場很舊，天花板很矮，

空氣中一種腐朽的氣味，

將近兩個月的假期，看似漫漫，其實稍縱即逝。

簽證發下來後，機票也訂了，

辦理好一些出國的相關事宜，

第三個星期，我就收拾行囊回老家。

根據法國2009年修正的新法令規定，所有到法國留學的學生須申請長期簽證，此簽證的有效期為一學期或一學年（最長不超過12個月）。

我在新加坡的駐法大使館申請，辦理的手續包括以下四個步驟：

一) 準備文件

可從法國駐新的大使館網頁下載有關資料與表格，須備齊的文件有：

1) 一份以大寫字母填妥的長期簽證申請表格；

關於住宿，CFLE de Poitiers的網址上提供了一些住宿的小貼士，我本身也在網上搜尋了一些資料。學生的住宿大致可分為四種類型：大學生公寓、私營大學生公寓、私人住宅和家庭寄宿。

(一)大學生公寓 CROUS

在法國，設在大學生校園區內或市區內的大學生公寓均由區域中心大學及學校事務中心(CROUS)負責進行管理。公寓內設10或12平方米帶傢俱和盥洗設備的單人房間，廁所和沐浴則為樓层共用。公共設施還包括：公用小廚房、工作和會議室等。這類型的住宿價格便宜，最為搶手，申請日期為每年的1月至4月30日。如果錯過申請時間，可以直接到CROUS辦公室碰碰運氣，一有空房，即可入住。

(二)私營大學生公寓 Studio CROUS

這類型公寓提供的套房附傢俱和盥洗設備外，還設簡易廚房，視情況可配帶餐具。公共設施包括：咖啡廳、電視室、自動洗衣房等。

老師上課時表面上是在傳授知識，

但很多時候其實是在和學生鬥智鬥勇，

而且現在的學生只能智取，不能硬拿。

學生最常使用的一招就是給老師加上“莫須有”的罪名。

     I am about to start a new chapter of my life. That means a lot of big decisions to be made, pile of papers to be filled, load of stuffs to be packed and finally a bunch of friends I have to bid farewell.

     Whenever I think about the future, Mark Haddon's words in 'The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time' calls to mind: Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spend all your time thinking about it. Couldn't agree more when I first read it. To simply put it, life is as unpredictable as the same way you are unable to predict the next prime number. But somehow, you know there exist certain rules which are just beyond your ken.

     None of us knows what tomorrow holds for us. Presumably we can seize the day or we know what we intend to do in future. But sometimes we are forced to give up or to change our plans in order to wait for a better timing, as a sudden twist occurred or the circumstances might not be in our favour then. If I look for another mathematical reference, these are variables in life. But then, another question arise: is there any constant? I guess yes, and for that I have to disagree with Mark's opinion that life has no patterns. Variables are the unknowns, they are mostly objective factors that can make a real difference of the outcome. But I believe there is also a constant. Ever wonder why do we always date a particular type of guys or girls? Why do we tend to make the same mistakes? Why are we more inclined to choose this and not that? Isn't history repeating itself?

    Unless something major happens which turns our whole world upside down, we are more likely to make a certain kind of decision. It is our preference that affects our judgements, different judgements thus have different impact on life. While preferences have something to do with our own personality, it seems like personality determines our fate. We have to bear the consequences of the choices we made. Quoting what Ghandi said :"The future depends on what we do in the present." This is the constant. Variables may be out of our control. But how we want to lead our life, it is in our hands.   　

    For me, I choose to leave. Moving is the inner calling, is the constant of my life. Adieu.
